Joyful Spirit Yoga Retreats Bali – Purnati is a quiet and sacred location in the rice paddies just south of Bali’s beautiful, mountainous Ubud. Highly spiritual, very private and away from the busy tourist strip, it’s the perfect place to hold a Yoga Health Retreat.

The name ‘Purnati’ in Balinese refers to ‘a peaceful and pure heart’ and to us, that’s the essence of the Balinese people and of our retreat.

We want you to take home a heart that’s peaceful and pure; and our program is designed to help access your joyful spirit. A spirit that has a child-like wonder and delight in the everyday simple beauty of the world, as it’s connected to all of life. Being back in nature, in the rice paddies, amidst the natural rhythms of life, and nurtured by the Balinese, certainly supports and nurtures this joyful feeling and state of being.

We enjoy daily yoga and meditation in a spectacular open-air yoga pavilion overlooking fertile green rice fields, while cool breezes gently caress us in our asana practice. Relax in comfortable air-conditioned traditional Lumbung accommodation (modern wooden structures inspired by classic Balinese rice barns) and around a large swimming pool situated in beautiful gardens.

Friendly Balinese staff spoil you at this serene and traditional resort so you can totally unwind. The five star staff chef and his team also prepare a range of delectable Asian, Western and vegetarian meals to nourish you.

In between yoga sessions, immerse yourself in authentic Balinese life and culture with a trip to the local market, followed by a Balinese cooking class.

As soon as you enter Purnati, the atmosphere will soothe your body, mind and spirit!

  • The retreat experience feels life changing, uplifting, relaxing and utterly amazing! I feel stronger, centered and coping skills more finite. Thank you Sue.

  • The retreat has taught me to take life as it is. Live in the moment and the rest will follow. We write the story of our own life, believe in what you create.

  • The week has been wonderful! Love the schedule of yoga and meditation, particularly the restorative yoga in the afternoons. The Kindess of Sue, Grant and all the other women has really helped me as I face some demons and let go of them. The combination of Yoga, Meditation, Massage and rest has meant I feel stronger, clearer, more grounded both physically and emotionally and ready to continue my journey toward a full life. Sue you are an incredible teacher and Grant a wonderful healer! Thank you!!  Bali Joyful Spirit Yoga Retreat

  • If you are looking for an environment to rest and rejuvenate not only your body but also your mind, I would definitely recommend the Joyful Spirit retreat. Great company, great location, supportive atmosphere. Plenty of free time to chill out and reflect, but at the same time 4 hours of yoga every day. This was exactly what I was after when I booked in for the week.
